Stand 04.01.2021
1 Supplier Code of Conduct
Responsible Conduct
Our highest priority is to comply with all applicable laws, rules, and regulations in all our business activities. We continuously strive to improve our social and environmental performance throughout the entire value chain. We take responsibility for our actions and expect the same from our suppliers. This Supplier Code of Conduct defines our fundamental requirements in the areas of human rights, working conditions, environmental protection, and business integrity. It is based on the principles of the UN Global Compact.
Human Rights & Working Conditions
ONI expects its suppliers to implement the principles described in this Supplier Code of Conduct within their organizations, or to have adopted equivalent standards, and to conduct their business accordingly. Oni expects suppliers to respect and protect human rights both in the workplace and in all business activities. All employees are to be treated fairly, with dignity and respect.
Freedom of Association and Collective Bargaining
Suppliers must recognize and respect the right of employees to freedom of association, organization, and collective bargaining. In situations where these rights are legally restricted, suppliers shall allow employees to freely elect their own representatives.
Forced Labor
Suppliers must prevent any form of involuntary, prison, or forced labor. All work, including overtime, must be performed voluntarily, and workers must be free to leave their employment after giving reasonable notice. Suppliers may not require workers to hand over government-issued identification, passports, or work permits as a condition of employment.
Child Labor and Protection of Young Workers
Suppliers are expected to oppose any form of child labor. Children who have not reached the minimum age for employment or the age of completion of compulsory education—whichever is higher—must not be employed. Suppliers must not assign young workers under 18 years of age to work that may jeopardize their health, safety, or development.
Non-Discrimination
Suppliers must not discriminate in hiring or employment practices based on ethnicity, color, religion, gender, sexual orientation, age, physical ability, health status, political opinion, nationality, social or ethnic origin, union membership, or marital status. This also applies to access to training, promotions, and bonuses.
Health and Safety
Suppliers must ensure that the health and safety of employees are not compromised at the workplace or any other site where production or work takes place. All employees must receive appropriate information and training, and necessary personal protective equipment must be provided.
Wages and Social Benefits
All employees of suppliers must receive at least the minimum wage in accordance with applicable laws and regulations and all legally required social benefits. Employment conditions, including pay, working hours, vacation, leave, and public holidays, must comply with applicable laws, regulations, and binding industry standards.
Environment
ONI expects its suppliers to conduct business responsibly with regard to environmental risks and impacts, and to take a preventive approach in their activities. Resources such as water and energy are to be used efficiently.
Environmental Legislation
Suppliers must obtain and maintain all required permits and licenses, and comply with the operational and reporting obligations associated with them.
Waste Management and Pollution Prevention
Suppliers should strive to avoid or minimize waste and emissions resulting from their operations. Efficient technologies should be used wherever possible to reduce environmental impact.
Environmental Management Systems
Suppliers whose activities impact the environment must adopt a structured and systematic approach to managing environmental aspects. This includes implementing environmental management systems, setting environmental objectives, and regularly reviewing the achievement of these objectives.
