Easy Integration into Die Casting Machines through Compact Design
The Rhytemper® FlexControl is a technology specifically developed for die casting applications, featuring demand-oriented and discontinuous tempering. Excess energy from the molten metal is removed in a targeted, circuit-specific manner via cooling pulses. This pulse cooling process precisely mirrors the die casting cycle, enabling absolute reproducibility and reducing production cycle times by an average of 14.2%.
Thanks to the discontinuous tempering, significantly less energy is required compared to conventional standard tempering, improving the CO₂ footprint. By directing only the actually required cooling energy to each individual mold circuit, component- and quality-critical defects are prevented. In almost all applications, it has been possible to simultaneously improve cycle time and component quality.
When production conditions change — such as fluctuating temperatures in summer and winter, blocked mold channels due to contamination, or varying flow rates — the Rhytemper® FlexControl automatically adapts the cooling pulses using AI to the current casting process (self-optimizing control).
The user interface of the Rhytemper® FlexControl is intuitive and clearly structured. Each tempering channel is assigned the required operating mode. Available modes include:
All configured parameters can be assigned to a specific mold set, saved as a dataset, and later recalled. Data can also be backed up externally via the front USB port. Data transfer to MES systems is possible via the integrated Ethernet interface or OPC, Profinet, Profibus, etc. Remote maintenance and troubleshooting are possible via a UMTS router, without the need to integrate into the customer network.
Standards for the installation of the distribution cabinets have been established with many die casting machine manufacturers. As a result, the Rhytemper® FlexControl system can be integrated, piped, and delivered together with the machine directly from the machine manufacturer, ensuring a ready-to-use, factory-installed solution.
