Reliable Draining of Cooling Channels Before Mould and Die Changes and Storage

The ONI RHYTEMPER mould and die draining system enables residual water to be effectively removed from cooling channels and temperature control circuits in injection moulding and die casting. Before a mould or die change, compressed air is used to blow the temperature control medium out of the cooling channels – ensuring effective draining and preparing the mould or die for storage.

The draining system can be used as a central unit or in combination with suitable RHYTEMPER system components. The targeted removal of residual water helps reduce the risk of corrosion during mould and die storage.

Reliable Draining Before Mould and Die Changes

During a mould or die change, residual water can remain in the cooling channels and temperature control circuits. The ONI RHYTEMPER mould and die draining system uses compressed air to blow the temperature control medium out of the cooling channels against the normal direction of flow. The medium is discharged through a separate outlet and is not returned to the cooling system.

Targeted draining reduces residual moisture in the cooling channels and prepares the mould or die for subsequent storage. This can help reduce the risk of corrosion during storage and protect the cooling channels over the long term. The draining system is suitable for corresponding applications in injection moulding and die casting.

Important Operating Information

For safe draining, the media temperature must be taken into account. The mould or die may only be blown out at a media temperature below 40 °C.
